- I come from the Orkney Islands. I graduated with a First Class honours in Media Production (TV and Radio) at the University of Sunderland. I currently work for BBC Radio 5 Live, Radio 4 and the World Service as a studio engineer. Prior to that I worked at BBC Radio Orkney as a tech op, presenter, interviewer and researcher. I've also worked as part of the team on Outside Broadcasts and many of the stations evening shows. I am also a DJ under the name of DJ Mashup. I play everything from AC/DC to U2, The Strokes to Pink, and Aerosmith to Tiesto. I spent summer 2006 working part time for the local newspaper at home called Orkney Today. I worked on the news team and I have continued my involvement by writing my own monthly column about life at Uni. I was the manager of 87.7 Utopia FM for a period of six months surrounding an RSL broadcast. The station broadcasts two 3 week RSLs a year. I have presented weekday breakfast (7-10am) with a co-presenter, weekday lunchtimes (12-2pm) on my own, the evening show (7-9pm) with a combination of guest co-hosts and this September I've produced and presented The Community Drive.
